Hi, I'm Luvi
I am a Sociologist and teacher. I am currently completing a Master’s degree in Latin American Social Studies and pursuing a PhD in Social Sciences.
Since 2020, I have been producing this sociology podcast with a clear goal: to bring sociology closer to everyday life through the cultural phenomena we all know and enjoy.
Intereses Conectados was created as a space for outreach and education in an accessible, engaging, and critical way. Each episode starts from a story within the pop culture universe to reflect on the issues that shape our social lives: love, work, power, identity, technology, and inequality.
My aim is to show that sociology doesn’t live only in books or classrooms, but also on our screens and in the conversations we have every day.
If you enjoy looking at the world with curiosity, a sense of humor, and a critical perspective, this podcast is for you.

Seasons

2020-2022

Intereses Conectados began in 2020 as a project created and hosted by Juana and Lu, two Sociology students at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) who shared the same passion: looking at the world through culture.
Juana was a film enthusiast and Lu a series lover, and together they began discussing sociological topics based on their cultural interests.
This is how Intereses Conectados came to life: a space where sociology and pop culture meet, blend, and engage in dialogue.
During its first stage (2020–2022), the show released 61 episodes, exploring how cultural productions can help us better understand the society we live in.
After Juana’s departure, Sofi—a social communication student and Lu’s sister—joined the show in episode 62.
Her arrival brought a new perspective, more focused on the analysis of cultural and media phenomena, adding a different yet complementary sensibility to the sociological approach.
This second co-hosting stage ran from episode 62 to episode 65, producing notable episodes such as The Enemies of Hollywood (a journey through villain stereotypes across different historical periods) and Fatphobia (an episode that explored how bodies and discrimination are represented in audiovisual culture).
This phase also marked the beginning of a new aesthetic for the podcast, defined by a renewed visual identity.
2022

2022-2024

Between 2022 and 2024, Intereses Conectados entered a new stage.
On July 30, 2022, Lu shared a message with the audience:
“It’s been two years and three months since this podcast began, and along the way there have been many changes, both in the show and in our lives. After some time rethinking things, we decided that we want the project to continue, but this time with just one host.
So hi, I’m Lu. I watch a lot of series, some films, and I’m almost a sociology graduate. I hope you’ll keep joining me as I mix these three things together in Intereses Conectados.”
In November of that same year, Lu graduated with a degree in Sociology and began working in the field of social research, which brought new depth and rigor to the topics explored on the podcast.
During this period, the show’s visual identity remained similar to that of the previous months.
In December 2024, Intereses Conectados adopted the aesthetic it maintains today.
New graphic elements were incorporated into the design, and the episode format became more flexible, enabling the exploration of different narrative styles and modes of analysis.
During this stage, occasional guest appearances also began, and the content expanded beyond film and television to include theater, music, and other cultural phenomena, broadening the scope of sociological analysis.
With five years of maturity, the podcast consolidated a more clearly defined analytical approach, combining sensitivity, humor, and critical thinking in episodes that address a wide range of themes from contemporary social life.
